Meet Janel Martin
Janel Martin and her husband are the owners of the beautiful Wakefield Inn, where Janel also serves as executive chef. With 15 years of culinary experience, Janel's sumptuous creations have long been gracing the tables of fine dining establishments.
After completing a culinary arts degree from Stratford University in the DC area, Janel went on to serve as banquet manager for an upscale Hyatt Hotel, where she also oversaw catering for large-scale functions.
A native of NH's Lakes Region, her travels have taken her far and wide, and back again. She's lived in New York City, and in Colorado, where she worked as a wrangler on a dude ranch. She also resided in Paris, France, where she embraced the fresh, au-moment cooking style, and reveled in scouring the local markets each day for local ingredients, then preparing them in the French culinary tradition.
Now, Janel is offering her impressive repertoire of culinary endeavors with an exciting new series of NH culinary classes and retreats, led by this accomplished chef, and hosted at the charming Wakefield Inn.
